The GSRA is one of the oldest street rod associations in the USA, having been formed in 1976. The GSRA promotes the car hobby in general and is open to all walks of life. All you need is a healthy interest in automobiles. You don't have to even own a car!! Spouses and significant others are welcome at our all our events. In fact many spouses run the 50/50 drawings and participate in the swap meet. Without spousal support the GSRA would not run as smoothly.
A couple things that make us different...we do not have a cut off date for our events, like some rod associations. Our members have all sorts of automobiles - stocks, rods, trucks, motorcycles, and customs. We have regular monthly meetings that encompass discussion of old and new GSRA business, selection of the Car of the Month, purchase of 50/50 tickets, and meet new members/greet old members. All are welcome to come check us out. See our Meeting Schedule.
a more serious note, our aim is to defeat anti-automobile
legislation that could adversely affect our hobby. To that
end we regularly monitor what goes on in the Georgia legislature.
We support all of the safety issues laid out by the National
Street Rod Association. In fact, at most of our monthly board
and general meetings there are NSRA inspectors available to make
sure member rods are safe. Inspections also take place at
NSRA meets around the state, and are free. When you
pass the inspection you get a window decal from NSRA.
We have a couple of events that mark our year:
First is our swap meet that occurs in late winter at JR Miller Park in Marietta, Georgia. We have the whole park, which allows us to offer covered swap spaces and a separate car corral. For those driving their rod or custom, we even have inside the park - parking. That way, you don't have to mix your ride with the door slammers. Admission is free for spouses and children. The spectator gate will be off the main parking area this year. Remember, this is a rain or shine event. The proceeds go to support GSRA activities over the year.
is our annual picnic open to ALL car enthusiasts. If you are
planning to be in Georgia in July, keep your eye on this website's
coming events for the date, time, and location. We encourage
ALL car clubs in Georgia to come participate. This is a free
event with food, door prizes, and lots of cars to see up close
